What is The Bereavement Register?

The Bereavement Register® is a free consumer service which helps stop direct mail being sent to the deceased, thus reducing the levels of distress caused to their surviving relatives and friends.

Everyone receives direct mail from companies selling products and services. Unless these companies are told that someone has died, they will continue to send mailings to that person.

Supported and promoted by many official organisations and services - including the NHS, registrars, the police and many coroners offices, The Bereavement Register® has stopped over 500 million items of direct mail since it's launch in 2000.
